Nobar dan Workshop Film Bersama WATCHDOC

Untuk menganmbil gambar dalam situasi sosial konflik tidaklah mudah, butuh pendekatan psikologis yang tidak sebentar. Butuh berhari-hari ketemu warga agar dapat membangun psikologis yang sama seperti yang diperjuangkan warga. Dan Watchdoc memproduksi realitas tersebut menjadi karya film dokumenter. Seperti penggusuran, pembakaran hutan, reklamasi dan lain-lain. Demikian yang disampaikan Dandhy Laksono, Co Founder Watchdoc dalam acara Workshop Film Dokumenter (22/3/ 2018).

Acara yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Komputer Multimedia Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) ini merupakan kerjasama antara Social Movement Institute (SMI) dan UAD. Workshop ini diikuti berbagai peserta dari berbagai kampus yang ada di Jogja. Seperti temanya, acara ini tentunya pemateri banyak menyampaikan tahapan atau proses dalam pembuatan sebuah karya dokumenter.

“Pembuatan film dokumenter sangat dibutuhkan kesabaran, keuletan dan juga konsistensi yang mendalam. Kita bekerja dengan ketidak pastian liputan, ketidak pastian waktu, dan itu tidak mudah. Hingga bagaiamana pendekatan dengan warga setempat dimana disitu kita akan mengambil gambar, mulai hari pertama kita datang memperkenalkan diri dengan warga, berlanjut hari kedua mulai berani bawa tripot, di hari ketiga mulai bawa kamera, di hari keempat mulai berani keluarkan kamera, di hari kelima mulai berani ambil gambar, dan di hari berikutnya baru mulai dokumentasi” papar Dandhy.

Di acara ini, para peserta mendapatkan materi seperti bagaiamana proses-proses pembuatan film dari awal hingga akhir. Mulai dari yang teoritis sampai praktis. dari mulai riset, penentuan tema, membuat alur cerita, membuat freeming, membangun perspektif hingga membuat kontruksi.

Lebih lanjut, Dandhy berharap dengan workshop ini, kedepannya para peserta bisa mempraktikkannya. Tapi harus diasah kembali, belajar yang lebih banyak lagi agar bisa praktik dengan lebih baik. Watchdoc dengan film dokumenternya, menurut Dandhy, menyebarkan virus perlawanan terhadap kedholiman, terhadap penindasan dan terhadap ketidakadilan yang kerap dialami masyarakat. Baginya, karya-karya yang dihasilakan Watchdoc tidak hanya sebatas film semata, akan tetapi lebih jauh dari itu, hal tersebut dapat diaknai sebagai gerakan social, terutama gerakan perlawanan untuk hadir dan bertarung dengan ketidakadilan yang ada.

 

Nobar ASIMETRIS

Sebelumnya, dalam rangkaian yang sama, telah digelar pula nonton bareng film ASIMETRIS yang dilaksanakan di Library Of The Engineering Faculty UGM (20/3/2018). Nobar ini merupakan kerjasama antara Social Movement Institute (SMI) dengan Nekrofolis Fakultas Teknik UGM. Menjadi penting untuk nobar ASIMETRIS ini karena untuk mengetahui relitas sosial sekitar kita. Dan Watchdoc dengan film ini memotret realita sosial tentang dampak perkebunan sawit yang besar-besar di Indonesia.

 

‘Sebagai orang awam di dunia perfilm-an, apalagi tentang produksi film, saya melihat film dokumenter itu sama seperti biasanya. Memotret realitas sosial. Tapi yang sangat penting tentang film dokumenter itu, bahwa film dokumenter itu punya pesan sosial yang kuat. Ia tidak hanya kita maknai hanya sebatas film saja, tapi itu adalah gerakan sosial yang tujuannya memantik kita untuk bertindak selanjutnya. Itu hal yang penting dalam sebuah dokumenter’ papar Melki.

Masih menurutnya, seperti film ASIMETRIS ini, secara umum biasa saja. Bahkan terkesan modern dengan tambahan akting lucu. Tapi pesan dalam film ini yang harus dimaknai sebagai sesuatu yang penting. Bahwa bumi kita rusak dan masa depan umat manusia terancam. Dan itulah yang harus kita lawan secara bersama. Dan ASIMETRIS ini memantik kita semua untuk melawan. Itu yang penting dalam film ini. Itulah pesannya untuk kita. (Bob)
