YANG PERGI DEMI CINTA PADA PALESTINA

Kala itu dunia masih diselimuti Perang Dingin. Sementara Wadie Hadad alias Abu Hani ialah lelaki asal Safad berkepala batu. Sepak terjangnya di tahun-tahun itu dihujani kritik. PLO dan organisasi yang ikut dia dirikan, PFLP, memintanya menghentikan serangan militer kepada subjek non Israel. Namun Abu Hani tetaplah Abu Hani.

Dibesarkan dari keluarga yang luluh lantak oleh Peristiwa Nakba, kemarahan mungkin telah mendidiknya lebih tekun dibandingkan akal jernih. Di PLFP kurun waktu itu dia pun makin kehilangan dukungan. Disebut-sebut ia hanya mewakili faksi minoritas di tubuh PFLP. Tetapi Abu Hani punya tangan panjang. Bukan hanya RAF dari Jerman atau “Carlos The Jackal” yang bisa dijangkaunya, koneksinya merambah hingga Asia Timur.

Akhir Mei 1972 Bandara Lod bersimbah darah. Operasi mematikan berlangsung cepat. 26 tewas. Israel kehilangan delapan nyawa, kebanyakan korban berasal dari Puerto Rico. Trio pelaku serangan bernama Kozo Okamoto, Tsuyoshi Okudaira, dan Yasuyuki Yasuda. Dua diantaranya tewas di lokasi. Ketiga penyerang itu dikirim oleh Abu Hani dari kamp pelatihan Lebanon.

Publik Jepang mulanya tak percaya para pelaku merupakan warga Jepang. Sampai pejabat kedutaan diutus ke rumah sakit dan memastikan kebenaran laporan tersebut. Memang, pada masa itu, ada banyak anak muda tengah kerasukan politik “ultra kiri”. Tanpa kecuali di Jepang. Abu Hani menyalurkan energi muda ini. Kelak ia ditendang keluar dari PFLP beberapa tahun berselang.

Revolusi skala dunia mewajibkan pembebasan Palestina sebagai bagian dari mandat perjuangan anti imperialisme. Deminya, orang Jepang pun bisa mati untuk Palestina. Batas tanah air dan nasionalitas tidak lagi relevan dalam palagan global. Pada diktum kiri, mereka disebut “Internationalis”.

Kurang dari dua tahun sebelum peristiwa di Bandara Lod, Patrick Arguello, seorang Nikaragua tewas di Amsterdam. Anak dari keluarga mapan ini lulusan UCLA, sekaligus penerima beasiswa fullbright kedokteran Chile. Dalam kaca mata kebanyakan, wajarnya dia menjadi profesional muda yang setiap ujung pekan pergi memikat gadis-gadis mestizo di San Francisco.

Namun meski cakap akademik, nyatanya Arguello muda adalah seorang Sandinista. Ruh anti penjajahan Augusto Sandino membimbing jalan hidupnya. Ijazah UCLA tak ada guna belaka. Ia memilih pergi bersama Leila Khalid untuk misi berbahaya: membajak pesawat Israel. Seorang militan muda kemudian masuk ke “klub 27”, mereka yang mati di usia tersebut.

Ghassan Kanafani pejuang cum sastrawan Palestina memujinya, “Patrick Argüello adalah simbol untuk tujuan yang adil dan perjuangan untuk mencapainya..”

Leila Khalid mengenang rekannya itu, “…sejarah ialah karya tulis kita, Patrick Argüello menuliskannya dengan darah”.

Satu nama lagi, bukan Arab, berbeda religi, mati bersama keyakinannya tentang Palestina.

Dalam spektrum politik non kekerasan muncul pula barisan nama. Semisal Tom Hurndall yang pergi sejauh lebih 2200 mil untuk menjemput kematian di Rafah. Pria asal London ditembak di kepala usai menyelamatkan anak-anak Palestina yang membeku ketakutan dalam kekacauan. Pemuda itu gugur di usia 22 tahun.

Dari Italia kita akan dapati Vittorio Arrigoni. Sosok pasifis yang datang demi Palestina dan tragisnya dihabisi kelompok pengecut dari faksi Palestina sendiri. Pria yang mengabdikan hidupnya untuk melawan ketidakadilan. “Yang meninggalkan kemewahan Roma dan datang ke salah satu wilayah paling kacau di dunia untuk menyibak kebiadaban Israel terhadap rakyat Palestina”, ungkap sahabatnya Muhammad Rabah Suliman.

Dan hari ini kita mengenang Rachel Corrie, dalam ingatan 15 tahun kepergiannya. Bahwa kecantikan telah memperoleh definisi ulang, sejak gadis Washington itu menghibahkan tubuhnya (dalam arti harfiah) bagi hak hidup bangsa Palestina. Siap dihantam buldoser lapis baja, -demi mencegah penggusuran rumah penduduk Palestina-, hanya mungkin dilakukan manusia dari tingkat keluhuran tertentu.

Di dunia, orang-orang menjalani hidup untuk selanjutnya menua, lalu berpasrah diri, menunggu ajal datang. Sebagian yang lain tak suka menunggu, mereka memiliki kemauan sendiri, berharap kematian menemukannya. Semisal Corrie di umur dua puluh tiga. Atau sederet warga asing yang merelakan nyawa demi pembebasan Palestina. Dalam “Legends of The Fall”, One Stab berujar. “Every warrior hopes a good death will find him”.
