Jujur saja saya agak tersinggung tatkala membaca buku lama yang berjudul “Orang Kaya di Negeri Miskin”. Di bagian akhir buku ini, ada satu paragraf yang tidak bisa saya terima dan sangat mengganggu sistem kesadaran saya.

“Tak bisa dihindari keadaan inilah yang membuat kemiskinan dengan gampang jatuh dalam limbah proyek. Si aktivisnya bertambah makmur sedang binaanya hidup dalam kemiskinan kekal”. Begitu cuplikan dalam buku yang ditulis oleh Eko Prasetyo tersebut.

Lantas, apa yang membuat saya tidak terima dengan pernyataan di buku ini. Ya karena saya bekerja di lembaga yang ngurusin orang miskin. Saya banyak membuat program bersama mereka.

Dan saya sangat tidak percaya kalau masyarakat binaan yang didampingi tersebut dikatakan semakin miskin. Karena faktanya bahwa mereka senang dan merasa terbantu dengan program-program yang di jalankan.

Kami memberi mereka bantuan alat untuk produksi, bangun infrastruktur, membuat berbagai pelatihan dan ketrampilan, bahkan selalu ada bantuan ekonomi yang diberikan sewaktu-waktu.

Juga yang membuat saya tidak terima, bahwa didalam buku tersebut dikatakan bahwa aktivis lembaga yang berprogram tersebut justru bertambah subur makmur. Are you serious about that? I don’t believe it.

Kemarin ada salah satu pelaksana program yang baru saja beli mobil mewah. Dan beberapa pimpinan baru saja pulang dari luar negeri. Lalu ndilalah saya menemukan beberapa peralatan mewah sudah bergelimpangan di kantor.

Tentu saya kaget. Wait!! Inikan kantor untuk ngurusin orang miskin. Kok jadi seperti perusahaan.

Tapi saya masih mencoba waras. Saya terus berusaha berpikir positif. Ah, paling ini semua didapat dari pekerjaan lain mereka.

Dan beberapa bulan pasca program, saya kebetulan ingin melihat kembali masyarakat yang pernah kami damping tersebut. Setidaknya bisa melepas rindu dengan mereka semua.

Tapi kok malah bukannya kerinduan dan harapan yang dilihat, malah keadaan sama seperti sedia kala. Miskin dan susah. Trus, kemana larinya peralatan-peralatan yang pernah diberikan? Kok sekarang malah sudah tidak ada lagi. Apa benar barang tersebut sudah dijual.

Kekecewaan membayang dengan cepat. Inikah hasilnya, yang ternyata nol besar. Nihil seperti sebelum program tersebut dilaksanakan.

Tapi entah mengapa, sewaku berberes berkas-berkas program, kebetulan ada laporan keuangan lembaga yang tergeletak begitu saja. Penasaran dengan isinya, laporan keuangan program tersebut akhirnya mau tidak mau dibuka.

Dan apa yang berhasil dilihat dan disaksikan di dalamnya. Ternyata alokasi dana dari program pengentasan kemiskinan tersebut, selama ini hanya sekedar usaha tipu-tipu-an saja para pegiat lembaga.

Bayangkan, hanya 40 persen saja dari dana donor tersebut tersalurkan ke masyarakat. Sementara 60 persennya adalah untuk membiayai seluruh pekerjaan dan bahkan gaji pekrja lembaganya.

WTF. Sebenarnya yang dilakukan lembaga ini apa? Apa benar mengentaskan kemiskinan masyarakat. Atau jangan-jangan yang dikatakan mengentaskan kemiskinan tersebut adalah justru untuk mengentaskan kemiskinan pribadi. Dasar dancuk !!

Kalau seperti ini, namanya bukan membantu masyarakat lagi. Tetapi ini sudah mengekploitasi kemiskinan menjadi tambang keuntungan untuk kepentingan pribadi. ini namanya menjual kehormatan dan harga diri masyarakat yang percaya pada lembaga tersebut. Dan lembaga tersebut diam-diam justru menggadaikannya atas nama kemanusiaan dan intelektualitas.

Tapi ya sudahlah. Mungin itu bisa jadi catatan kedepannya. Ternyata dari ini semua, faktanya bahwa lembaga sosial banyak hanya sebatas jubah saja. Sebatas tampilan luar saja mejadi terdepan membela kepentingan masyarakat kecil. Padahal kenyataannya tidak seperti itu.

Dari itu kemudian, saya harus merevisi kembali pendapat tentang lembaga sosial. Justru sekarang saya sangat setuju dengan apa yang dipaparkan dalam buku tersebut. Karena ternyata lembaga sosial banyak yang kadang justru bertolak belakang dengan visi misinya. Banyak yang justru melacurkan kepentingan pribadi atas nama kepentingan masyarakat kecil.

Tapi saya tetap yakin, di dunia ini pasti masih juga ada lembaga yang bekerja tulus ikhlas untuk memperjuangakn hak-hak orang miskin dan menjadi pelopor perubahan sosial di masyarakat. Saya tetap yakin walau pernah dikecewakan.

Sewaktu makan siang bersama para petinggi lembaga, tak dinyana ada celetukan yang terdengar. Bahwa akan ada 3 proyek lagi yang sudah lolos. Proyek kemiskinan lagi.
