Membaca tulisan Eko Prasetyo dalam buku ‘Kitab Pembebasan, Tafsir Progresif Atas Kisah-Kisah Dalam Al Quran’, memberikan kita cara pemahaman yang baru atas kejadian masa lalu yang heroik yang pernah dikisahkan serupa dalam alkitab. Secara umum, kisah dalam buku ini sama dengan kisah dalam Al Quran itu sendiri. Mulai dari kisah Nabi Adam AS sampai Nabi Muhammad SAW. Nyaris tidak ada yang berbeda. Cuma, dalam buku ini, pembaca diajak untuk berinteraksi secara langsung seperti membaca sebuah features, mengaduk perasaan seperti berada di situasi kejadian yang sedang berlangsung dengan tokoh-tokoh ceritanya yang sengaja dihidupkan. Hal ini untuk memberikan pesan bahwa kejadian dimasa lalu tersebut tidak berbeda dengan kejadian yang terjadi hari ini. Gaya bertutur penulis dalam buku ini menjadi kelebihan tersendiri bagi pembacanya. Dan hal ini sama seperti buku lainnya yang pernah penulis tulis sebelumnya; provokatif dan penuh hasutan. Tentunya provokasi dan hasutan yang mengajarkan nilai-nilai sosial.
Buku Kitab Pembebasan kalau dilirik lebih dalam per cerita dalam kisahnya, adalah upaya Eko Prasetyo untuk melakukan tafsir perlawanan dengan mengetengahkan kejadian masa lalu sebagai motivasi untuk melakukan perubahan saat ini. Sengaja dalam buku ini tak ketinggalan unsur sosialisme menjadi titik kajian yang ingin disandingkan. Seolah penulis ingin berkata bahwa sebenarnya agama-agama di dunia, termasuk Islam sebenarnya adalah ‘bapaknya’ ajaran sosialisme. Makanya tidak heran ketika dalam berbagai kisah, teori marxis menjadi rujukan perbandingan kekinian terhadap yang pernah terjadi ratusan tahun lalu di era para nabi dan sahabat. Bahwa sekarang ada teori marxis yang berkeinginan terjadinya kesejahteraan pada semua manusia, perlawanan terhadap kapitalisme, kesetaraan gender, terhapusnya sistem perbudakaan, pertentangan kelas sosial dan sebagainya, sesungguhnya juga pernah terjadi pada saat zaman para nabi tersebut. Dan hal itulah yang kemudian dilakukan para nabi dan para sahabat pada saat itu setelah mendapat wahyu dari Tuhan untuk melakukan perlawanan terhadap mereka yang melakukan kelaliman. Cuma pada saat itu istilah marxis atau sosialis belum di temukan. Seperti contoh dalam salah satu kisah Nabi Musa AS dalam meruntuhkan rezim tirani otoritarian Fira’un atau konfrontasi langsung yang dilakukan Ibrahim AS saat melakukan subversi terhadap simbol kekuasaan Namrud dan kisah yang tak kalah heroiknya tatkala Isa AS yang berani mengkritik dominasi kuasa para pendeta Yahudi yang korup.
Sepertinya dengan memasukkan analisis marxis, buku ini ingin mengabarkan bahwa tidak ada pertentangan antara konsep Islam dan marxis. Justru konsep marxis dengan Islam bisa berjalan beriringan saat menghadapi persoalan yang terjadi. Dulu dan sampai saat ini Islam sangat menentang pembodohan, pemiskinan dan sebagainya. Sekarang kaum marxis pun juga sangat menentang hal yang kemudian dikenal dengan kolonialisme, feodalistisme dan kapitalisme tersebut. Lihat pada contoh kisah Nabi Syu’aib AS Sang Penentang Kapitalisme. Syua’ib diberi mandat dan tugas untuk membantu akar masalah dari keberlangsungan sistem. Hal itu tampak dalam (QS al araf ; 85), “Dan (kami telah mengutus) kepada Madyan saudara mereka Syua’ib. Ia berkata ‘wahai kaumku sembahlah Allah tidak ada bagi kami satu Tuhanpun selain-Nya. Telah datang kepada kamu bukti dari tuhan kamu; maka sempurnakanlah takaran dan timbangan dan jangan kamu kurangi bagi manusia barang-barang mereka dan janganlah kamu berbuat kerusakan dimuka bumi sesudah perbaikannya. Yang demikian itu lebih baik bagi kamu jika kamu orang-orang mukmin”.
Hal ini menurut Eko Prasetyo (hal.178) kemudian menjadi pembahasan dalam kajian marxis yang kita kenal dengan istilah hubungan substruktur, suprastruktur dan teori nilai lebih. Takaran dan timbangan adalah istilah yang mengacu pada perbuatan serta alat produksi. Hingga kini sistem pedagangan melandaskan pada kaidah ini. Takaran adalah buah dari perbuatan dagang yang secara harafiah dipakai untuk melakakukan transaksi. Sedangkan timbangan merupakan wujud alat produksi yang selalu dijadikan alat dalam perdagangan. Hubungan dintara keduanya itu sangat bergantung pada pelaku-pelaku ekonominya. Di titik ini kritik Syua’ib menumbuhkan kesadaran akan ancaman atas keadilan. Kira-kira berabad-abad kemudian Karl Marx menubuhkan kritik itu dalam hubungan substruktur dan suprastruktur. Substruktur itu adalah basis kekuatan produksi sedangkan suprastruktur wujud dari lembaga-lembaga kultural yang menopang terjadinya hubungan produksi. Syua’ib mengkritik keduanya; substruktur yang didominasi oleh para pedagang curang dengan suprastruktur yang ujudnya keyakinan naif tentang Tuhan. Ketika keduanya bersekutu untuk menjelmakan realitas material yang menindas, maka perbuatan yang paling keji adalah melakukan kecurangan. Oleh Syua’ib disebut sebagai mengurangi timbangan dan oleh Karl Marx kemudian disempurnakan melalui teori nilai lebih.
Dengan mengetengahkan konfrontasi yang terjadi saat itu, jelas terlihat bahwa penulis sedikit nakal dan berbahaya memainkan peran dari tokoh-tokoh yang diagungkan itu. Sedikit saja melenceng, akan menjadi kemarahan yang luas. Apalagi bangsa ini merupakan mayoritas penduduknya beragama muslim. Tapi disinilah kelihaian si penulis yang mampu meracik kisah yang bermakna datar (pada umumnya, kisah dalam al kitab lebih banyak menjadi kisah yang kemudian hanya menakut-nakuti pembacanya tentang hari akhir) menjadi sebuah bacaan yang merangsang orang untuk melakukan perlawanan terhadap situasi yang terjadi hari ini. Seperti dengan menampilkan kisah konfrontatif yang berwujud pembangkangan langsung dalam kisah Nabi Ibrahim AS dan Nabi Syua’ib AS. Atau duel fisik ala pendekar yang dikisahkan antara Nabi Dawut AS saat melawan Jalut, protes dan keberanian menyuarakan kebenaran seperti dalam kisah Nabi Musa AS, Harun AS dan Yahya AS. Kelihaian meracik ulang kisah-kisah para nabi dan sahabat dalam buku ini dengan gaya tutur yang lebih mudah dipahami walaupun bernada provokasi, justru menjadikan buku ini layak untuk dibaca dan dicermati. Dan ini juga adalah ke khas an sang penulis yang mampu menyuguhkan cerita kisah tersebut yang mampu merubah alur cerita yang monoton menjadi seperti melihat sebuah pertunjukkan drama yang sedang diperankan oleh aktor yang hidup dan bergerak. Dan juga sebagai tulisan provokatif tentunya buku ini tak jauh maknanya agar agama atau apapaun keyakinan dengan segudang kisahnya, tidak harus dipahami dengan latah.
Menjadi benar dalam epilognya, Muhammad Al Fayadh kemudian berkata bahwa kisah para nabi dalam buku ini adalah penggambaran terhadap diri kita saat ini. Peristiwa yang pernah terjadi di zaman nabi-nabi tersebut kemudian semuanya hadir kembali hari ini. Dan sudah tentu tugas kita untuk menuntaskannya seperti yang pernah dilakukan para nabi dan sahabat tersebut. Kisah para nabi bisa menjadi acuan bagi kita untuk melawan kelaliman yang sedang terjadi hari ini. Para nabi dan rasul mampu membuktikan bahwa tiran mampu dikalahkan. Bukan dengan mukjizat. Karena sesungguhnya para nabi dan rasul itu adalah manusia biasa yang sama dengan kita yang sama berpeluh dan berkeringatnya dengan para buruh, tani dan masyarakat jelata lainnya (hal 351). Sehingga tak heran ketika dikatakan bahwa para nabi itu adalah kita. Kita yang sama-sama diperlakukan tidak adil, dihina martabatnya, dilecehkan harga dirinya, di penjarakan, diasingkan, di kejar aparat, digusur, diintimidasi, dikriminalkan dan lain sebagainya. Tapi, apakah kita adalah nabi? Hal ini menurut Al Fayadh harus kita pikirkan kembali. Karena menjadi nabi haruslan menjadi pembebas bagi umatnya. Kesiapan untuk memikul beban ini yang kemudian akan menjawab pertanyaan tersebut tadi. Sanggupkah kita memikul beban untuk membebaskan umat manusia dari segala ketertindasannya. Sekali lagi, setidaknya buku ini memberikan kita gambaran bahwa perjuangan belum selesai. Meskipun para nabi dan rasul sudah tidak ada lagi di zaman sekarang, spirit nabi dan rasul itu harus tetap dihidupkan. Buku ini mencoba menghidupkannya dengan sangat heroik dan provokatif.
